The Way of Grace¶
The nuns taught us there were two ways through a market. The way of nature. The way of grace.
Nature only wants to please itself. The way of grace does not try to please. It accepts being forgotten. Accepts being wrong. Accepts the loss.
This is a curriculum in the way of grace.
A companion to the trading project. Each lesson arrives at something concrete — a metric, an instrument, a piece of code you can run. The arc is the same as its sibling, quant-lessons. The voice is not.
We start with what we can measure.
- The measurable — returns, volatility, the random walk.
- The contract — a promise you need not keep.
- The Greeks — how the door moves, and its hinge.
- The surface — what the market says about tomorrow.
- The engine — who stands opposite each trade.
- The measure — did it work, and what does that mean.
- The lesson — what is worth learning from noise.
- The flows — ticks, events, cross-asset currents.
Begin where everything begins — with a number that moved.
